Prior to the rookie draft during the dull months when we are not blessed with football we will open up restricted free agency. Restricted Free Agency (RFA)- Each off-season every team will be given 1 RFA tag each season.
- All RFAs will be posted on the RFA board, and will be open for bidding for the specified time.
- Bids must be submitted using the same format as the UFA rules.
- The current owner of a RFA cannot bid on that player.
- At the posted deadline the original team who owned the player has 24 hours to match the high bid and resign the player.
- If the bid is not matched, the player is signed by the highest bidder.
Trades & the RFA Tag- RFA TAGS cannot be traded
Franchise Tag- Each off-season every team will be given a franchise tag.
- You can place the franchise tag on 1 RFA eligible player.
- A player can not be tagged two consecutive off-seasons
- A tagged player will automatically become an RFA the following year
- A franchised players salary will increase by 200% (rounded to the nearest .5), and automatically receive a 1yr contract
- You MUST use your Franchise Tag each year
Trades & the Franchise Tag- Franchise TAGS cannot be traded
- Franchised players CAN be traded.
- The tag follows the player, and he is not eligible to be franchised by his new team.
