What You Need To Do
1. Go to your team 'sRosters Page and reply to the thread by copying the sample roster below.
2. Paste the Sample Roster and click submit.
3. Modify your reply and fill your roster with Players from that NFL team
Go to @@@@@@@@
for an up-to-date team roster.
Players selected in the 2009 NFL draft are not eligible to be included on your initial roster.
4. You DO NOT have to fill your whole roster if you don't want to right now. There will still be the Rookie Draft and Free Agency before the season starts.
5. IF A PLAYER WAS A FREE AGENT AT THE END OF THE '08 SEASON AND SIGNED WITH A NEW TEAM, THE NEW TEAM GETS HIM @ his 2008 salary.
6. Go to XXXX to determine the salary amount. Use the Salary Conversion Chart in the Rules section and this link to set your salaries.
7. Remember you have an $80 salary cap and 50 years for contracts, and you have 3 draft picks that may be used as well.
8. Go to Profile (located under the picture of the cheerleaders on top of page). Select "modify profile."
9. Set up your information CHANGE USERNAME to your teams' names, e.g. CARDINALS/JETS.
10. At the bottom of "modify profile" select YES for "display sub-boards" and NO for "hide sub-boards"...This will allow you to view all sub-boards like waivers/UFAs/RFAs, etc...
MAKE SURE YOU READ THROUGH THE LEAGUE OVERVIEW AND UNDERSTAND THE SCORING.
FAQS:
1. The salary that you get from the salary conversion chart is PER YEAR. You don't multiply that by the number of years you sign them.
e.g. If Tom Brady has a 9.5 millions cap contract on the USA Today page, and you elect to sign him to 2 year contract, his converted contract would read $5/2y, this means you count $5 towards your salary cap this year and in 2010, not $10. And you count both years against your 50 contract cap total.
2. You get to sign the players for the years that you choose.
e.g. You can sign Player X for 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years;
BUT......the total number of years on your roster CAN NOT exceed 50.
3. Each team has 3 draft Picks based on the draft order and this does not reflect any trades of those picks by your real life NFL counterpart.
e.g. The Broncos DO NOT get the Bears picks in this draft. They only get their original pick. The draft order is posted in Rookie Draft.
4. When we hold the rookie draft, you will be able to sign those players to 1y, 2y, 3y, 4y, or 5y contracts (it's up to you), but you still have to stay under 50 years total.
5. You WON'T have to sign Rookie's until the Midnight on the Sunday before Kickoff Night (Thursday game) of the NFL season.
6. You can change the roster of your teams NFL players until the rosters lock, approximately 48 hours after the team draft.
7. Once rosters are locked, you can proceed with trading.
